Mission Statement
Our mission

New Communities Partnership (NCP) is a national network of over 126 ethnic minority-led organisations. The mission of NCP is to be an effective network, representing and empowering ethnic minority-led groups, at all levels, in order to influence positive change in policies that impact on their lives.
Our vision
We are working towards an intercultural and inclusive Irish society where ethnic minority groups are achieving equality in economic, social, political and cultural aspects of Irish life.
Our values
At New Communities Partnership, we are guided by the principles and practice of community development and we focus on four key values:
- Respect & Dignity - We believe in respecting people's views and promoting an environment of tolerance and trust.
- Equality - We believe in equality for all: that means equality among members of NCP itself, between men and women, and between ethnic minority communities and the wider society.
- Participation - We believe in representing issues that are grounded in the lived experience of our communities. We support the rights of our members to participate in the decisions which affect their lives.
- Empowerment - We believe in our capacity to define our own needs, articulate our hopes and fears and represent ourselves locally, regionally and nationally
Strategic Goals
In line with New Communities Partnership Strategic Plan (2008-2010), our strategy is built around four core goals which have been identified after extensive consultation with our members and stakeholders.
- Build the NCP as a local, regional and national representative network for ethnic minority-led groups.
- Empower ethnic minority-led groups to articulate their own needs and campaign for the full realisation of their human rights.
- Be a powerful advocate on issues of concern for members.
- Work collaboratively with other NGOs and statutory agencies to build an integrated Ireland.
