Undocumented Migrant Scheme

In 2022, the Irish Department of Justice government announced a new scheme to regularise the status of people living in Ireland without current immigration status. The scheme was created to alleviate the challenges to integration and labor market mobility faced by individuals who have been long-term members of Irish society without valid residence permissions from the state.

This paper explores how undocumented or irregular migrants may gain legal status through the temporary administrative scheme. It serves as a guideline for the registration process, including eligibility requirements, required documentation, application deadlines (January 31^st, 2022), and the appeals process for unsuccessful applicants.
